Yes, you can eat great burger in Vienna and yes, we don’t think that McDonald’s is the place to go. As a matter of fact one of the best places in Vienna to grab a great burger is Smokey’s (http://www.smokeys.at). There are two restaurants: one is right in the city centre and the other one is pretty close to the centre opposite the Donaukanal.

They definitely use some of the freshest groundbeef for their burger in Vienna so you can take the medium which I certainly can recommend. The taste is awesome. If you come for lunch there is a lunch special every day. Today they had a Ginger Chicken Burger with their homemade fries and a salad as a starter. It was yummy although I am not a particular fan of sauces like BBQ sauce the taste of that sauce was great.

So if you can choose where to go for a great burger in Vienna Smokey’s is certainly the place to go plus: don’t forget their home icetea and lemonade.

They were definitly rocking the stage … all the young music talents from Teenage Rockstar (http://www.teenage-rockstar.net) at Local Bar (http://www.local-bar.at) in Vienna. The youngest was just 8 years old but was already getting the party started with his performance of “Monsta Party”!

In the end, Papermoon (http://www.papermoon.at) was performing with some of the young music talents! What a great highlight for this amazing afternoon!

… not that I would forget … but find it extremely super exciting … there is going to be beer week @Arena (http://www.arena.co.at) a super fun party and concert location in Vienna.

And of course! Being a fan of both - partys and beer - I will have to check that one out - so be there too! It is free of charge (of course, it would be great if you would give a small donation)

… are no contradiction. The Austrian National team is not that bad actually. But that is not the main message here. In fact, Austria is hosting the American Football World Championships (http://www.americanfootball2011.com) starting today in Innsbruck with the US competing against Australia. Eight teams are competing in total.

There is going to be lots of Public Viewing and a Party Zone …. it is at the Krieau at the Trabrennen (http://www.krieau.at). Come for Parties and Public Viewing and Drinks the perfect place.

But for all those in Vienna - there are still tickets available for the Finals next Sunday at Ernst-Happel-Stadion. The prices start at 25 Euros and you can watch two matches. Being an American Football fan for more than 20 years I do need to get my tickets … if you want to join me, let me know!

… no not really. But for me it was just better at Badeschiff (http://www.badeschiff.at) when it was still colored in orange. Something was different then, it was less organized and formal. Today, the Badeschiff is more for the fancy-schmancy class. Very often you see people coming from their offices in the inner city to drink a beer. It is less relaxed.

The same is true for the restaurant that is located inside the Badeschiff. I just wanted a small snack today. But they tried to sell me some sort of glasses and bottles with soup, which either came in 500ml or in 1000ml. Somehow that was too complicated for me. So I decided to take the apple tarte. It was good but a bit small.

The conclusion of my last visit. The Badeschiff is ok for a beer in the evening. But for that I can also choose a different location at the Donaukanal since there is one bar next to the other.

… that was what I was wanting to get when I went to Naschmarkt the other day. So I decided for the Phò Sai Gòn (http://www.saigon.co.at) which is in the first half of the market closer to Karlsplatz. I love Vietnamese … one of the best cuisines in my opinion. So I thought you can hardly make anything wrong.

I ordered the cold spring rolls with shrimp. They were good. Next: the grilled pork with rice. Let me tell you: the taste was great. it was just that the size of the meal was not quite what I expected and I left with an empty stomach. Maybe I should have ordered something else since the food on the plates of the other customers looked to be much more.
